What is Nutritional Therapy

Nutritional Therapy is a natural and holistic healing approach, based on scientifically proven facts, that our food provides us with everything we need to obtain and maintain an optimal state of health. Our body knows how to heal itself, we just need to feed it the right ingredients.
Hippocrates once said “Let food be thy medicine, and let medicine be thy food”, he also said “All disease begins in the gut”. The majority of health conditions that we suffer from today are as a result of our stressful lives, sedentary lifestyles and poor diet. We can reduce the symptoms and sometimes totally heal many of our modern-day disorders, with food and nutritional supplements. In fact, I am living proof of this fact and so are many of my clients. I have worked with clients with obesity, diabetes, digestive disorders, autoimmune, menopausal issues and mental health problems and have significantly reduced, or even eliminated, their symptoms purely by making changes to what they eat.

As a therapist of nutrition, I practice functional medicine by establishing a therapeutic partnership between myself and my clients in order to uncover the root causes of symptoms. I do this by determining: Nutrition quality, Exercise, Sleep, Exposure to toxins and Stress levels. Together we then treat the cause (not the symptom), in order to prevent disease recurrence and promote optimum health and wellbeing.
